Didn’t know….

The call came in for a routine afternoon pick up. I am beginning to love the randomness of these calls. I set out to use this service for rural transportation into to town for appointments such as doctor’s visits, treatments, or grocery and pharmacy runs, however, the calls have been anything and everything in between. I can honestly say that I look forward to each call and who will ride in the comfortable seat next to me for however long is necessary. As my passenger gets into my car, I find common ground instantly. I learn I am hauling a veteran. My father is an army veteran, whom I am so proud of for his service during war, and who is just an all around stand up guy. I am finding this such an honor that I have a veteran in my vehicle to take across town. As the ride continues, not only am I hauling a decorated and very tough veteran, I am hauling my neighbor. That took a minute to sink in. First, how did I not know this was my neighbor instantly at pick up, but second, how did I not know that my neighbor served greatly to protect my freedoms as an American citizen. This experience left a deep impact on me to take the time to know your neighbors. Take Care!
